The Pothos

The Pothos is a popular house plant that's quite easy to care for!

Basic Care

Pothos plants love bright indirect sunlight but it will survive in moderate to low indirect light. Do not place the plant in direct sunlight as it will burn and dry out the leaves.

This plant should be watered every 1-2 weeks depending on the weather and temperature of your location and home. If the plant is in a hotter climate or recieves a lot of sunlight, water it once a week. If it's in a more mild to colder climate or recieves less sunlight, water it every two weeks.

Origins of the Epipremmum Aureum

Also known as the money plant or the devil's ivy, the pothos is beleived to be native to the islands of the French Polynesia in tropical forests. They are common in countries throughout Southeast Asia, Australia, and the West Indies. Due to their ability to survive in a variety of conditions, the rapid speed at which they grow, and suffocate surrounding plants they are considered invasive species and should not be planted outside. They are evergreen plants that climb by using their aerial roots. In the wild, they can reach enormous heights by climbing along the trunks of trees. However, in homes, they are most often seen as hanging plants where there trailing leaves are left to hang from a higher level.
